This week we talk about the Purpose of a Gift or ability. God gives people gifts and abilities for the purpose of serving those around them. Often we get things backward, it's easy to think that our gifts and abilities are for our own benefit or glory. The Scriptures teach us that we are to use our gifts both for the benefit of others and to bring glory to the awesome God who we serve.
We learn three lessons from Daniel 2:1-30 this week:
- Daniel realized that his gift was not for himself
- Daniel was unimpressed with himself but in awe of God
- Daniel prayed boldly for impossible things
