Joy

This Sunday we will be thinking about joy, and the question may well come to your mind, joy what reason would there be for joy in this dark troubled broken world?

Zechariah brings us the primary reason for joy which we will consider, and he reveals for us numerous other reasons which we will consider. He says in Lk 1: “Praise the Lord, the God of Israel, because he has visited and redeemed his people.  He has sent us a mighty Savior from the royal line of his servant David, just as he promised through his holy prophets long ago.

Who is this mighty Saviour?  A few words from Louis Giglio bring his greatness into perspective:

"After an eternity of being God, He shows no signs of wear and tear. He has no needs. His accounts are in the black. He's the owner, not to mention Creator, of all of the world's wealth and treasure..."  And this same God became our Mighty Saviour, coming to save us, rescue us, set us free and bring us into relationship with the Father. Very good reason for Joy in a very broken world.
