We had a glorious Sunday celebrating with Isaac and Ashley as they dedicated their daughter, Miriam, and with Mobin and Nilo as they were baptized.

I highly encourage you to listen to the testimonies by Sagaya, Matthew, Mobin, and Nilo as they share a small part of the big story God has been writing in Mobin and Nilo's lives.

Two weeks ago, Alissa and I sat with a family from Iran who had experienced harassment and even jail for their faith in Jesus.

This coming Sunday, we'll take time in our morning service and at a 6:00 PM evening prayer gathering to pray for those whose lives are marked by this kind of suffering.

On Sunday morning, I'll tell you more of how God has worked in this family's life to bring them to a safer life in Canada, but for now, I encourage you to check out their video below and let it stir your heart to pray for people who never find a safer place.

Over 350 million Christians worldwide endure intense levels of persecution and discrimination simply because of their faith. IDOP is an annual opportunity for Christians around the world to unite in prayer for our brothers and sisters who are suffering for their trust in Jesus.

We are looking for someone who is willing to step into the role of leading the welcome team.

This is a crucial ministry at the church. Do you have a deep love for Jesus? Excellent skills with team leading? A passion to see the newcomer warmly welcomed and connected at our church?

Contact Jeremy at 807-620-1912.

I'm looking for someone who can coordinate Angel Tree on behalf of our church this year. If you have a deep love for Jesus, leadership and organizational skills, and a desire to bless the children of prisoners, please reach out to me (Jeremy) at 807-620-1912

Communion will be postponed to November 8th.

This week, we start a series studying the book of 1 Thessalonians. This week, we will cover Chapter one.

It couldn't have been timed better with our focus this coming Sunday on the persecuted church. To be a Christian in the city of Thessalonica was to experience persecution for your faith.

Paul writes to these Christians after he has had to flee the city of Thessalonica. He's been anxious to hear how they are doing, and is thrilled to find out that their contagious faith is thriving.

These Thessalonian Christians are so deeply committed to their faith that they have become an example to other Christians near and far. Through them, says Paul, "The word of the Lord is ringing out to people everywhere."

There's only one question to ponder: Is this true of us?

See you Sunday!

Jeremy

Join us for a hymn sing at Pioneer Ridge after the Sunday service. More details to come.

Sanna's Testimony and Encouragement

I have been involved with the Shoebox ministry for close to 20 years.

Remember these boxes are more than just a gift, it is an opportunity to share the gospel with a child which often results in them accepting Christ as well as sharing the gospel with friends, family and the community.  My former church was able to get copies of the Greatest Journey which is the discipleship program that they share with the children in the countries that receive the shoe boxes. It is a very good program and clearly explains the gospel in their language. Also I have first hand stories of the impact that these boxes have had on the communities by immigrants who are here in Canada now attending my former church in Geraldton.

There also are amazing videos on the website of how God has answered children's prayers in faith which has resulted not only the child accepting Christ but their friends who had made fun of them for believing they would receive specific items they had prayed to receive. Samaritan's purse has also been distributing shoe boxes in Nepal for many years to impact children for Christ. During the floods this past summer they were able to quickly send medical teams and supplies to assist as the connections had already been made in that region.

Our church response has been wonderful, half the boxes are gone. I still have more in the cafe and have access to more if needed, please let me know if you are participating so I have an idea of how many boxes are donated from our church or the number of boxes that are virtually donated online.

Find out how to participate at the link below.
