Last Outdoor Service - Let's Get Connected
Sunday marks our last outdoor service. Hasn't it been good outside? We have a special "Launch" service planned for September 8th. We will be hearing from our Life Group Leaders about the groups starting this fall. After the service at our Life Group Fair there will be an opportunity to meet the leaders and to sign up for a Life Group. Our heart is to see us getting connected with each other, growing in Christ, and experiencing God together. God reveals himself to us in community. Let's get connected. |
Kid's MinistryLaunching September 15th Kids ministry will be starting back up on September 15th. We are all looking forward to having the kids back inside the classrooms and we are excited to see where this year takes us. We have already invested in some great curriculum for the kids and can’t wait to dive into it with them. This year we have some big goals for the kids and volunteers, as we try to foster the feeling of belonging and community, with everyone involved. We are all excited and hopeful that this year will be as great and powerful as ever. We pray that everyone had a great summer, enjoying that beautiful sunshine and we can’t wait to hear about all the adventures and activities the kids did. Here’s to a wonderful year in kids ministry! Be A BereanHumble Pie & The Comparison Game Luke 18:9-14, a Pharisee and a Tax Collector are found praying at the Temple in Jerusalem. In the parable, a description is given for how each of them approaches God. In the parable the Pharisee ends up being the bad character and the Tax Collector the good character. To the listeners of the day this was a very upside down perspective. As you read the story try immersing yourself in the life of each character. That will take some work. What were each person's lives like? What do we know? What do we not know? Here's some questions I've asked myself. What comes before and after this story? Despised Tax Collector - Why was he despised? Pharisee - Who is this person? Fasting, Standing by himself, Tithing? Isn't it good the Pharisee isn't sinning like the tax collector? Do we all become like the tax collector? |
Pastoral Search
Gary, chair of the Pastoral Search Committee, gave us an update last Sunday. The Pastoral Search Team has met several times and has had productive meetings. They are writing a job description and will be posting that on various websites in the upcoming weeks. Gary is happy with the progress that the team is making. Blessings, |
