Be A Berean
Last Sunday Jeremy spoke about the Holy Spirit’s ministry, which he called the “secret sauce” of the vibrant life that was seen in the church in Antioch. I want to pick up from that and think further about the power of the Holy Spirit and how that was released in the early church in the book of Acts. Acts 1:4 [Jesus] gave them this command: "Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. 5 For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit."… 12Then [right after Jesus ascended into heaven] the apostles returned to Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives, …. 14 They all met together and were constantly united in prayer, along with Mary the mother of Jesus, several other women, and the brothers of Jesus. We will think together on Sunday about “God’s new family that prayed” , why don’t you read Acts chapters 1 and 2 in preparation for our time together. Blessings, Jeremy, Gene and Caleb |
